Famous Irish playwright Oscar Wilde famously said,
"Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months."
Well that time is now upon us. In 3 weeks time, London Fashion Week Spring Summer 09 will be upon us. It runs from the 14th of Septemeber to the 19th. I personally Enjoy Spring/ Summer collections more than Fall/Winter collections. So as far as I am concerned London Fashion Week Spring/ Summer is the pinncle of The British fashion calendar.
I took a look at the schedule of London Fashion Week and it looks JAM-PACKED. Some really great designers are showing there collections. One show that I'm particularly looking forward to at London Fashion Week is adidas by Stella Mccartney. For those of you who havent seen the line before. Its really fashionable sportwear with very feminine cuts. In other words its what I think Blair Waldorf ( Gossip Girl) would wear if she did sports.
I've liked adidas by Stella Mccartney ever since I saw there ad campaigns. There always really pretty and have and ethereal quality. Below is an one of their ads on NYmag
London Fashion Week Spring/Summer 09 will debut all of the trends for next years summer season so stay tuned to this blog as we will be keeping uptodate with all thats going on at Fashion Week
Jeremy Scott may hail from Kansas City but for his SS10 show in London he returned to Bedrock. The collection payed homage to the iconic 60's cartoon family, the Flinstones. The collection is surely creative and buzz-worthy but some items such as the menswear were low in wearability and I really cant see any guys wearing a polkadot loincloth or a mankini. The womens line had a higher wearability factor. It included sexy swimsuits, togas and tunics. The denim pieces and the bone print jumpsuits were the highlight of the show.
The show featured celeb models Pixie Geldof, Daisy Lowe and Liberty Ross as well as Dominique Hollingsworth, Cole Mohr, Chanel Iman, Ash Stymest and Lekeline Stange.

Last Saturday was the "Make do and Mend", ethical fashion event at Oxfam Chelsea. Unfortunately I spent the day in A&E ( freak eye scratching accident) and didn't make it to the event. However, I was lucky enough to get some photos from the event courtesy of Tom Worman. The event was all about making something new out of something old and being able to create fashion from vintage clothing.

I know all guys get makeup done when they are going on stage but there is just something really funny about seeing Andrew Flintoff get his makeup done. Im sure his team mates will take the mickey out of him but the again its for a good cause so im sure they'll lay off of him on this occasion.
